I'm just resting after the big game!

On Saturday my footy team the Rabbits are playing the Bulldogs at ANZ saduim. I'm very proud of my footy team for getting this far.I will be attending the game on Saturday. If the Rabbits get in to the finals I will be going. Go the Bunnies, go, go, go! you can do it!

Best book week costume

Today in 6S we had the book week parade . The best costume was my costume . My costume  was The Cat in a Hat . I had black pants, black cardigan, and had lots of cat make up and it was a last minute costume I made. I was finding it hard to think of something so I had no time left and I found a cat in a hat so I decided to wear my black pants and black boots. I had a shirt that was black and I put a blue singlet on and stole my sisters black cardigan. Then I got a red ribbon and tied it around my neck and made a bow. I went to school and had the parade, we all had fun . I got the reward for best costume and I put it together all by myself and then I got to write on the blog . Thank you.

Book Week Parade

It's Book Week Parade tomorrow and as the teachers do every year, we are all going in with a theme. I will be doing my best to impersonate a gladiator tomorrow and it should be a lot of fun.

Hopefully I will see you all at school for the parade.

Happy Birthday

A huge happy birthday to Gabriel, Dylan and Elizabeth who are all celebrating their birthday this week. It has been great fun sharing that day with you all!

The Sugar Rush

This morning, students were involved in a lesson that involved measuring the amount of sugar that was being consumed by character called Dean. The students were shown the recommended daily intake for poeple their age, which was about 60grams. The students examined the amount of sugar in popular foods and drinks such as coke, LOL drinks and a range of lollies.

Students were amazed by how easily sugar consumption increases by adding these snacks into your daily snacks.

Students understood the following points:

• Your body needs a small amount of sugar to survive.
• Sugar is a main cause of type 2 diabetes.
• It can lead to obesity.
• It's alright to have these treats sometimes.
• Sugar can cause tooth decay.

What a great lesson. Thanks to everyone for being involved.

Linton and the AFL State Knockout

This week, Linton represented 6S and Camden South P.S at the AFL State Knockout. We are very pleased as a class and school to have such a talented AFL player. We spoke with Linton to find out his thoughts on the game and the following paragraph will highlight these thoughts.

'The game was tough and the wind made it difficult to kick straight. The players on the other team were very fast but I could still tackle them all. I'm really proud of all the boys effort and I'm looking forward to the next time we play".
